# Sewer Line Replacement

We find the damaged section with a camera and replace the line with as little digging as the job allows.

When the sewer line under your yard fails, the problem rarely stays in one fixture. Several drains back up at once, the basement floor drain gurgles when a toilet flushes, you smell sewage near the cleanout, or a soggy patch in the lawn never dries out. Around Dayton, the usual causes are roots getting into joints, older pipe that has cracked or settled, and sagging sections that hold waste. We start with a camera inspection, so we can see exactly where the damage is and how bad it is. You see the footage too. If the line is sound and the problem is roots or buildup, [drain cleaning and jetting](/services/drain-cleaning/) may be all you need. If the line is broken or collapsed, we plan a replacement. We specialize in minimally invasive sewer line replacement. That means less digging, less torn-up lawn and less disruption than trenching the whole run. How much excavation a job needs depends on the depth, location and condition of the line, and we walk you through that before work starts. Estimates are free for homes and businesses, and the work carries our 2-year warranty.

## Common questions

How do I know if my sewer line needs to be replaced?

Common signs include several drains backing up at the same time, gurgling when fixtures drain, sewage odors and wet spots in the yard. A camera inspection confirms whether the line is broken, collapsed or full of roots. We show you what we find before recommending anything.

Will you have to dig up my whole yard?

Usually not. We use a minimally invasive approach to limit digging, but the amount depends on how deep the line is, where it runs and its condition. We explain the plan before any work starts.

Can roots be cleared instead of replacing the line?

If the pipe is still sound, [hydro-jetting](/services/drain-cleaning/) can clear the roots and restore flow. If the pipe is cracked or collapsed, the roots will keep coming back, and replacement is the long-term fix.
